Starting the trip

From Ria de Pontevedra in Spain to Lisbon in Portugal

Anchored off the beach at Nova in Ria de Pontevedra. A very nice beach and great for people watching.

The fort in the old part of Bayona - we couldn't see round as there was a European fisheries ministerial conference being held there - cheek!!

Commemorating an old trip out to the Azores and back.

Anchored in Bayona bay.

I am sure this commemorated something!

A church in the lovely Vaiana do Costelo in Portugal.

Susan doing her postcard bit! We need a postcard from every stop!

We berthed on a pontoon outside the Viana do Costelo small marina - up to about 6 knots of tide/current at times.

Coming back from a shopping trip.

Susan sharing the load.

Local fishermen using poles with baskets to scrape the bottom of the river for cockles - we think!

A lovely building on the main avenue in Porto.

More great Porto architecture.

Another spectacular building.

The scene across the river from the bank with all the port cellars - we only tasted a few (6 or 7).

A traditional boat with one of the port cellars in the background.

More port cellars.

A wonderful sunset over the river.

Porto at night.

Strong currents and races at the entrance to Aveiro

A tower at the entrance to Aveiro - could we have got lost and ended up in Blackpool?

Some of the huge deserted beaches at Figuera da Foz

When you buy too much shopping you need to improvise!

The fort at the entrance to the Tagus river

The Padrao dos Descobrimentos (Monument of Discoveries, on the way up river to Lisbon.

Approaching the 2 level bridge which we go under, the Lisbon marina we are going to is just the other side.

One of the main city centre streets. DLS dressed with the usual satorial elegance!

Some old and very old Lisbon architecture.

DLS enjoing some people watching in a really nice square.

Susan being patient while I take her picture!
